THE POPULAR WORLD CULTURES

The series has been in circulation since 1958. Until 2013 it was published under a different title: The Popular Scientific Library (pol. Biblioteka Popularnonaukowa). ISSN 0239-8974

There have already been 18 volumes released, including the works of such prominent authors as Józef Burszta or Jacek Kolbuszewski. Subjects of the works varied, concerned the Polish folk culture (settlements, art, medicine, clothing), the cultural traditions of other continents, lifestyle, multiculturalism, regionalism. A common feature of the works was to be the formula: open to a wide circle of readers, not limited by the academic requirements, and touching upon issues affecting not only the scientific world.
