So far, as part of a series there have been published 12 volumes of single-authorship volumes presenting selected phenomena of contemporary folk culture, as well as cultural phenomena belonging to the so-called high-culture that were inspired by folklore and folk tradition. The nature of the series - according to the intention of its founder prof. Czesław Hernas - is defined by the contemporary understanding of folklore as a form of artistic expression, first and foremost the art of the spoken word, including its various genres and stylistic determinants. Authors published within the series focus on both the organizing and presenting the results of field research, as well as on theoretical issues related to folk poetry and genealogy.
