HISTORY AND PROFILE OF COLLECTION

 

Archive of Polish Ethnological Society (earlier Ethnological Society) collects continuously documentation of its activity since 1895, when it was created in Lviv. The collection include Society’s correspondence with scientific and cultural institutions from the country and abroad. Gatheres also materials from field researches. Here are stored unpublished manuscripts of leading Polish ethnologists, including Stanisław Poniatowski, Jan Kubary, Adam Fischer, Wincenty Pol et al. From 1989 Archive collects manuscripts, typescripts and documents with memories of Polish exiled to the former USSR areas in 1939-1956. Archive also takes over the legacy of the modern scientific ethnologists.

Monday                        9.00 a.m.-7.30 p.m.
Tuesday                       9.00 a.m.-7.30 p.m.
Wednesday                  9.00 a.m.-3.00 p.m.
Thursday                     9.00 a.m.-3.00 p.m.
Friday                          closed  

From Monday to Tuesday the library is closed from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
