The early volumes of Comments to Polish Ethnographic Atlas were thematic monographs regarding maps of the Polish Ethnographic Atlas on a par with any other materials. Studies created in the Wrocław centre tackled the subjects of farming and agriculture, construction, foods and processing equipment, transportation and land communication, burial customs, rituals and beliefs. In 1999, along with the transfer of the editorial to Cieszyn the structure of the subsequent volumes was altered and started to be formed only on the basis of archive materials of Polish Ethnographic Atlas and are illustrated with accurate maps. The volumes published in Cieszyn related to the folk knowledge and beliefs, mutual assistance, wedding customs and rituals, as well as customs, rituals and beliefs regarding birthdays.
